Wheels stolen from WWII vet's vehicle, officials say

A local World War II vet got a rude awakening Sunday morning.

The 85-year-old veteran lives on North Hedgerow Drive in Lower Macungie Township,, Lehigh Co.

He said he was getting ready to head to church but when he got to his car -- a 2009 Toyota Venza -- his wheels, tires and rims were missing! A World War II veteran license plate was on the vehicle.

Police said the theft happened sometime between 3:15 - 4:45 that morning.

The wheels are worth about $1600.
