Woman beats husband and pulls knife in front of their juvenile son, police say
A woman was arrested after she beat her husband, pulled a knife on him, and when he fled with their juvenile son, broke down a door and beat him again, officials said.
Janice Klimek attacked her husband at about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, after he found her passed out on a couch in their home in the 100 block of Constitution Ave., Wind Gap, Northampton Co., and confronted her about her drinking and having a "secret" cell phone, officials said.
He told police he had just returned home from work when his wife "went crazy" and began kicking and punching him, officials said.
After Janice Klimek pulled a knife, her husband said he went into a bedroom with the couple's juvenile son for safety, but his wife kicked in the door and kicked and punched him some more, officials added.
During the second scuffle, the husband pushed his wife and injured her lower lip, officials said.
After Janice Klimek was taken into custody, she told police she beat her husband in retaliation for years of abuse, officials said.
Janice Klimek, 37, was arraigned on assault and harassment charges and released on $8,000 unsecured bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. March 1.
