A woman used her long fingernails to make a point to her boyfriend after becoming enraged by a series of text messages he was receiving from another female, officials said.
Gloria A. Ruiz-Lorens scratched her boyfriend in his genital area and caused deep cuts to the right side of his neck and scrapes and scratches to his back and shoulders Friday evening, officials said.
Ruiz-Lorens, of Pen Argyl, told police she attacked her boyfriend after being angered by text messages aimed at her that were sent to his cell phone by another woman, officials said.
Ruiz-Lorens, 35, was arraigned early Saturday morning on assault and harassment charges and released on $2,500 unsecured bail.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. April 9.
