AG Kathleen Kane talks internet safety at Liberty HS
The Pennsylvania Attorney General wants to keep teens safe, so she came to Bethlehem Monday to give them tips on how to protect themselves online.
Attorney General Kathleen Kane and several members of her staff presented a program at Liberty High School called "Operation Safe Surf."
Kane talked with students about a few cases her office has prosecuted that involved victims being taken in by online predators.
Staff members said technology is a huge part of young peoples' lives and that makes them targets for criminals.
"We hope that they will learn how to use technology wisely. Attorney General Kane wants them to see what they face out there and that they will not be so easily conned by people who want to be their friends or friends of friends," said Renee Martin, director of education and outreach.
Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli also participated in Monday's program.
