Allison Crist knocked out boyfriend by throwing candle at him, police say
A woman hurt her boyfriend by throwing a candle at his head, officials said.
Allison C. Crist hit her boyfriend in the head with a Yankee brand candle she threw at him during an argument around 8:40 a.m. Monday in her home in the 100 block of South Broad Street in Nazareth, Northampton Co., officials said.
The boyfriend told police he blacked out and temporarily lost feeling in his legs and feet after the candle encased in thick glass hit his head, officials said.
Crist said she threw the candle after her boyfriend had whipped a towel at her, officials added.
The boyfriend was treated for a large lump and a bruise on the top of his scalp by an EMS crew at the scene and then taken to the hospital, officials said.
Crist, 18, was arraigned on assault and harassment charges and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $3,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Nov. 22.
