A woman accused of poisoning burritos and feeding them to her family was ordered by a judge Tuesday to stand trial on assault and related charges.
Ann Marie Haines waived her right to a preliminary hearing before District Judge Michael Faulkner in Upper Macungie Twp., Lehigh Co.
Haines, upset that her husband and daughter didn't invite her on a car shopping trip, cooked up the tainted meal using some sort of crushed-up medication and fed it to her family inside their home on Yorkshire Drive in Lower Macungie Township on May 14, officials said.
Haines' husband and daughter were taken to a hospital for a checkup after reportedly feeling dizzy.
When Haines' husband later confronted his wife about the food, she became aggressive and told him she would harm them when they went to sleep, according to court documents.
Haines, 42, was charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.
