ArtsQuest plans 'Bacontopia' event in November
Event will raise funds for youth education programs
Do you love bacon? ArtsQuest has cooked up an event with you in mind.
The first annual 'Bacontopia: A Celebration of Bacon' event will be held Nov. 10 from 1-4 at the Musikfest Cafe at 101 Founders Way in Bethlehem.
At the event, bacon aficionados will enjoy a sizzing Sunday filled with delicious bacon dishes.
Some of those include bacon fries, Sweet & Spicy Roasted Bacon, bacon breakfast napoleon, cream of bacon soup, bacon burger sliders and spicy pork belly.
For those with a sweet tooth, wrap your senses around bacon lollipops, bacon cupcakes with maple icing and dark chocolate with bacon swirl ice cream.
The event will also highlight bacon-themed presentations and entertainment, according to organizers.
Lancaster County butcher Tony Page will be on hand to offer bacon and pork products, including advice and recipes.
D.G. Yuengling & Son brewmaster John Callahan will offer presentations on pairing Yuengling beers with bacon and pork dishes.
All attendees will receive a Bacontopia Passport to get stamped each time they sample a bacon dish. Everyone who samples all 10 items will be interested into a drawing to win Musikfest Cafe concert tickets.
All proceeds from the event will benefit ArtsQuest's arts education programming.
Tickets are $35 and go on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m. to ArtsQuest members and to the public on Friday at 10 a.m.
Tickets can be purchased at artsquest.org and 610-332-3378.
