Attempted luring reported at Bethlehem school
At least third in BASD since school began
Bethlehem police report that a light-skinned male, operating a white Ford sedan with tinted windows, attempted to lure a student walking in the area of Broughal Middle School Monday.
The student told police that the male attempted to lure him into the vehicle.
Anyone who sees a vehicle matching that description should call Bethlehem police at 9-1-1.
Police ask parents to remind their children about not accepting rides from strangers and to report any suspicious acts to police.
The incident is just the most recent reported in the Bethlehem Area School District since school began.
A suspicious person was observed on the morning of Oct. 1 in the vicinity of the Hampton Road and Birch Drive school bus stop in Bethlehem Township, according to school district officials, who notified township police.
That suspect was described as a white male, approximately 5-feet-10-inches tall, 220 pounds, in his 40s, wearing a white zippered hooded sweatshirt, baggy jeans and sneakers.
Another possible attempted luring of BASD children was reported in September.
As children attending St. Anne Elementary School were being dropped off near the intersection of Sculac Drive and Washington Street in Bethlehem Township on Sept. 12, a male with a grey beard, "in a smoky brown, older model Kia" motioned for them over to his vehicle, officials reported.
