EASTON, Pa. -

Students at an elementary school in Easton put their creativity and math skills to work Thursday afternoon.

March Elementary School held an assembly Thursday in connection with the "Crease, Fold and Bend" exhibit that's on display at Lafayette College.

During the assembly, Lafayette faculty members taught the first graders how to create items with techniques found in Origami.

The assembly had an educational component, connecting art and math.

"Giving them an opportunity to look at the different jobs that people can have in the world as a mathematics professor, an art gallery director. Also, we wanted the kids to look at art itself and things that can do outside their normal day to day."

The exhibition at Lafayette includes some of the most extreme paper-folding, including a kayak.

It runs until Oct. 27 at the Williams Center Gallery.
