Bijorn Trent sentenced for killing of Juan Devarie
He will serve up to five years in state prison
Bijorn Trent was sentenced to two-and-a-half to five years in state prison for homicide Thursday by Judge Maria Dantos in Lehigh County Court.
In October, the Allentown man pleaded guilty to killing 46-year-old Juan Devarie on South Hall Street in the city last December.
Family members said Devarie's daughter and her friends were attacked by three men they did not know. Devarie was knocked unconscious while trying to break up the fight. He later died at the hospital.
Trent, who was 30 at the time, was charged with criminal homicide.
