Body found in Lehigh River identified as missing canoeist Jeffrey Lacava
A body pulled from the Lehigh River Friday night has been identified as a canoeist who disappeared last weekend.
Just before 8 p.m. Friday, Jeffrey Lacava, 53, was found floating in the river just north of the Tilghman Street Bridge in Allentown. That's near Coca Cola Park.
The Allentown Fire Department and Police responded and pulled the body from the river, police said.
Last week, crews began searching the Lehigh River in Northampton. Lacava took his canoe out on the river near the Tri Boro Sportsman's Club on Saturday but didn't return.
The coroner says the cause of death is pending further testing.
