ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

Drivers heading across Allentown's Eight Street Bridge will have to find a new route Thursday.

Starting at 9 a.m., officials will close the northbound lane on the bridge to allow cement truck deliveries for new construction.

The lane is scheduled to reopen at three p.m.

Sidewalks will remain open for pedestrians.

The southbound lane of the bridge has been closed since May as part of an $18.5 million rehabilitation project.
