UPPER NAZARETH TWP., Pa. -

An area middle school was put on partial lockdown for a while Wednesday morning while officials searched the building.

Officials said a .22 caliber bullet was found by an eighth grade student in a boys' bathroom at Nazareth Area Middle School.

As a precaution, a partial lockdown was put in place and the entire school was searched.

No gun was found.

Superintendent Dr. Dennis Riker said the administration reviewed video surveillance of all students who were seen entering that bathroom area, and checked the lockers of all eighth grade boys.

"Each male student was scanned with a metal detector wand for possession of any metal items.  No additional suspicious items were found on any students," Riker said.

The lock down has been lifted.
