ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

Police say one person was injured-- and part of Hanover Avenue in Allentown was closed after a car accident.

Police say a car struck a utility pole on the 400 block of Hanover Avenue around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

After hitting the pole, police said the car also hit seven parked cars.

The driver was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem and as of mid-day Wednesday was listed in stable condition.

Four passengers in the car all had relatively minor injuries, police said.

There's no word on his condition or what caused the crash.

That area of Hanover Road was closed for several hours while crews repaired the pole.
