Councilwoman Mota released from Venezuela hospital
Allentown City Councilwoman Cynthia Mota has been released from a hospital in Venezuela, Mayor Ed Pawlowski said Friday.
The mayor posted the news on his Facebook page.
"As soon as the doctors give her the OK to fly, she will be on her way home," the mayor said in his post.
Mota had been in the hospital in South America since early April. City council President Julio Guridy told 69 News last month that Mota had suffered complications after contracting chicken pox while visiting family in Venezuela.
Mota had voted at some recent council meetings via phone.
