Nearly hitting police car results in arrest of passenger

PHILLIPSBURG, N.J. -

An Easton man was arrested early Sunday morning following a motor vehicle stop along Route 22 in Phillispburg, N.J.

Craig Curtis Becker, 27, was a passenger in a car driven by 22-year-old Catherine Kurzynski of Phillipsburg.

Lapatcong Township police stopped Kurzynski after she nearly crashed into their cruiser at 1:24 a.m. Sunday, while traveling west on Route 22.

Police learned Becker was wanted on charges of terroristic threats in Northumberland County and disorderly conduct in Phillipsburg. Police also found  Becker had marijuana.

Becker, who resides at 915 Spring Garden St. in Easton, was charged with being in possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and being a fugitive from justice. He was committed to Warren County Jail to await extradition to Pennsylvania.

Kurzynski, who resides at 17 Jade Lane in Phillipsburg, was charged with two motor vehicle violations: careless driving and failure to provide a valid registration.
