EASTON, Pa. -

Prosecutors in Northampton County say a woman who claimed she was kidnapped and raped was lying about the attack.

Stephen Kitchell pleaded guilty Tuesday to simple assault and unlawful restraint.

Charges of kidnapping, false imprisonment, rape, sexual assault, and indecent assault were withdrawn.

Police say Kitchell held the victim inside a home on Montclair Avenue in Bethlehem from late May until mid-June of 2013.

Officials say the woman's initial claim that she had been raped by Kitchell was not true.
