An Allentown woman who attacked a man with a large knife and punched and slapped him in the face was arrested by city police Thursday.
Thirty-six-year-old Damaris Rivera, who resides in the 300 block of S. Cedar St. in the city, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.
The attacked happened about 5:10 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Oak Street.
When police arrived, the victim said Rivera tried to stab him with the knife. He was able to fight off the knife attack, but the large blade did cut his forearm.
He also said she punched and slapped him in the face. He had a swollen face and a swollen lower back. Police did not explain the cause of the back injury.
The police report also did not explain what spurred the attack. Rivera was not on the scene when police arrived but was taken into custody at her home.
