A woman slashed the back of her boyfriend using a broom handle with sharp edges after he insulted her children, officials said.
Danializ Calo Rojas attacked Albert Flores in a bedroom of her home at 719 Atlantic St., Bethlehem, around 5:15 p.m. Monday, officials said.
A witness told police Calo Rojas attacked Flores with a stick or a pole after he began cursing at Calo Rojas in Spanish and insulting her children while they were arguing, officials said.
The witness then showed police a silver-colored broom handle with sharp edges that had blood on it that she said Calo Rojas used to attack Flores, officials said.
Flores told police that the scratches and cuts on his back, neck and face were caused by the mother of his unborn child, officials noted.
Calo Rojas, 26, was arraigned on charges of assault and harassment and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $2,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 2 p.m. Oct. 7.
