ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

With all precincts reporting their results, Democrat Tom Muller defeated Republican Scott Ott in his bid to become the next Lehigh County Executive.

Muller, who has served as the county’s director of administration for more than seven years, declared victory in a live interview on 69-WFMZ-TV.

Ott, a county commissioner, waited until nearly all of the results were in before conceding the race.

On June 12, Lehigh County commissioners voted 5-3 to appoint Matt Croslis county executive.

He is serving until the end of this year, completing the term of fellow Democrat Don Cunningham, who resigned before his term ended to run the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation.

The term was first filled by Bill Hansell, who later resigned due to health reasons. He died shortly thereafter.
