DEP investigating East Bangor Dam fish kill
A large fish kill throughout the lake at East Bangor Dam is being investigated by the State Department of Environmental Protection.
DEP spokesman Kevin Sunday said reports of dead fish were received this weekend. He said DEP found many dead large mouth bass and sunfish throughout the lake.
Sunday said the investigation into the cause of the fish kill is continuing, but preliminary tests indicate the cause may have been a lack of dissolved oxygen in the water. He explained temperature changes sometimes can cause a rapid loss of oxygen in the water.
