BANGOR, Pa. -

A man is accused of shooting his uncle with an airsoft gun over an accusation of a missing gift card.

Dominick Mocerino, III, 18, returned to his uncle's home in the 100 block of Broadway in Bangor Thursday afternoon, police said.  Mocerino recently moved out of his uncle's home but Mocerino still needed to move some of this things.

Mocerino accused his uncle of stealing a $100 gift card from him and then fired a shot from an airsoft gun at his uncle's neck, police said.

An airsoft gun is a replica firearm that shoots plastic pellets instead of bullets.

His uncle tried to run but Mocerino chased him and punched him twice in the eye before Mocerino's sister could pull Mocerino off their uncle, police said.

Mocerino's uncle then ran outside, got into a vehicle and went to the Bangor Police Department, police said.

Mocerino was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, harassment and possessing instruments of crime.

After being arraigned Thursday, Mocerino was committed to Northampton County Prison after being able to post $25,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Jan. 3 before Magisterial District Judge Todd Strohe.
