Easton mayor will announce sale of Alpha Building

EASTON, Pa. -

 Easton Mayor Salvatore J. Panto, Jr., and members of  City Council will announce results of ongoing negotiations with a previously undisclosed buyer for the sale of the Alpha Building at 3:00 p.m. Thursday in City Council Chambers  at 1 S. 3rd St. in the city.

The sale of the building, which currently houses City Hall and other private businesses, is part of the administration’s comprehensive strategy to fund the construction of a new building, parking deck, and transportation center project one block away from Alpha building on a vacant lot along South 3rd Street.

Additionally, Panto will announce the receipt of a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development for the administration of a home improvement program, called “the HOME Program” to assist income qualified homeowners in  the city with necessary home repairs.
