Edward Maye-- already serving term for bank robbery --charged with 2nd one
A man who's already in prison for a violent bank robbery in Lehigh County is facing new charges for a similar crime.
Prosecutors say 34-year-old Edward Maye robbed the Lafayette Ambassador Bank at 402 State Ave. in Emmaus at gunpoint back in December of 2010.
Officials say Maye and two other men robbed the KNBT bank at 235 Main St. in Emmaus later that same month.
During that robbery police say the men pistol-whipped a bank employee and the men shot at police. They got away with nearly $12,000 in cash.
The co-conspirators were sentenced in 2012: Isaah Sampson faces 33-70 years and Hishamu T. Curry faces 30-60 years in prison.
In October 2011 he pleaded guilty to robbery and conspiracy. Maye is currently serving a state prison term for the KNBT robbery.
Officials said Maye will be arrested next week when he's brought to Lehigh County from the state correctional facility in Huntingdon County, where he's currently serving time.
