A fire in Lehigh County sent four people to the hospital Thursday evening.
The fire was reported at 7:25 p.m. in a 12-unit apartment building at 353 Broad St. in Emmaus.
It started in a first-floor apartment, which was destroyed. Smoke filled the rest of the building.
The Red Cross provided one family of four adults with lodging, food, and clothing.
Fire officials were investigating whether a candle caused the fire.
Emmaus and Western Salisbury firefighters responded, and the fire quickly was reported extinguished.
No information immediately was available about the conditions of the unidentified people who were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township.
