Enrollment will be down again this year when school returns next month at the Bangor Area School District.
Between 50 and 100 fewer students than last year are expected to attend classes when the new school year begins in another four weeks on Aug. 25.
Bangor, which has less than 3,000 students, is one of a number of districts in the area that has seen declining enrollment in recent years.
Some districts, including nearby Stroudsburg Area School District, among others, have been forced to close schools to cut costs in the face of declining enrollment trends.
At Bangor, the cafeteria will be collecting an additional dime for breakfast and lunch, ranging from a low of $1.15 for breakfast for elementary students to $2.30 for lunch for high school students.
The district serves slightly more than 2,000 lunches per day and about 460 breakfasts.
