COPLAY, Pa. -

Firefighters battled bitterly cold temperatures as they worked to extinguish a fire in Lehigh County early Thursday.

The blaze broke out around 6:30 a.m. at a home at 18 S. 2nd St. in Coplay.

The fire started in the walls of the home after the owner's boyfriend was thawing frozen pipes with a heat gun, according to Coplay's fire chief, Matt Buskavitz,

The boyfriend was outside walking the couple's dog when he noticed the fire and called 911.

The fire spread to two alarms before crews brought it under control two hours later.

No injuries were reported.

The Red Cross provided a family of four adults with food, clothing and lodging.
