Five of 11 Allentown strip club dancers get ARD
Five of the 11 exotic dancers arrested in May at the Platinum Plus strip club were granted Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition by prosecutors in Allentown Wednesday.
They are Mariah Graham, Alisha Litzenberger, Alexis Blazinski, Jamayra Santos and Tiffany Morresi.
ARD programs offer people convicted of less serious charges, especially first-time offenders, a way to avoid a criminal record by doing community service.
Status conferences are scheduled on Dec. 5 for four other women who were charged: Tawnia Brown, Victoria Schotter, Kristine Arnold and Jennifer Shonk.
Santos had waived her Oct. 24 preliminary hearing, according to court records.
Hearings were held Sept. 23 for Brown, Arnold, Schotter and Shonk.
Cleah Furtick, Graham and Litzenberger waived their Sept. 23 preliminary hearings and Blazinski and Morresi did the same on Sept. 19.
Furtick has a status conference scheduled for Jan. 6.
Another suspect, Michelle Andrews, 29, of Fleetwood, died suddenly on Aug. 24.
The 11 women were arrested in May and charged with soliciting prostitution when police raided Platinum Plus along Airport Road in east Allentown -- after several undercover visits.
The lawyer for the owner of Platinum Plus maintained his client did not promote or permit illegal activity.
Allentown police, state police and Liquor Control Board enforcement officers hit the strip club just after 5 p.m. May 1.
According to court documents, the prostitution bust started as an anonymous tip that workers were offering sex acts for money.
All faced misdemeanor charges of soliciting prostitution.
Court records reported a half dozen officers had posed as clients and arranged a meeting with the dancers and that, within an hour, every one of them was offered some kind of sex act.
A customer at Platinum Plus would pay between $300 and $700 to get a bottle of champagne and an hour in the champagne room-- where the workers would join them. The dancers wanted $200 to at least $1,000 for sexual services.
