Forks Township supervisors have given their blessing to a new commercial development that will house a medical office, a bank and a fast food restaurant.
The supervisors voted 4-0 Thursday evening to approve the final development plan presented earlier this year by the B. Land Co. which wants to put those properties on four acres at Sullivan Trail and Rensselear Avenue.
The fast food restaurant would include a drive-through.
The property currently houses Palermo Pizza and Pitchforks Nursery.
Both buildings would be razed to make room for this development, said Matt Chartrand of Bohler Engineering, which is handling the project for B. Land.
Earlier this year, the supervisors said they had no objection to another fast food proposal, a McDonald's planned for Towne Center Boulevard.
Also Thursday, the supervisors gave their approval to a preliminary plan by Straight Arrow Inc., a Bethlehem-based beauty products company that wants to move into the township.
Straight Arrow's target is a building on Uhler Road which it hopes to use for warehousing and manufacturing, said Chartrand, who also represents this project.
He said the company's plan is to expand the 200,000 square foot building by another 108,000 square feet.
