FORKS TWP., Pa. -

The vacancy left on the Board of Recreation by newly elected Forks Township Supervisor Ed Moore was filled at this Thursday’s meeting by Judy Presto Arnold.

“You have some big shoes to fill,” joked Ed Moore of his previous post.

Ms. Arnold has been a resident of Forks Township since 1980. In that time she has raised three children who are now all college graduates outside of the area.

“I have expanded my knowledge [of the Forks Township recreation program] through raising my children here,” said Arnold. “We’ve participated in every program the township has to offer.”

Ms. Arnold previously served as president of the Blue South Mountain Soccer League and also launched the soccer program at Forks Township.

Supervisor Ed Moore said that because of the need to fill the vacancy as quickly as possible the Board elected to vote on the approval of this position ahead of next week’s Board of Recreation meeting. According to Moore, however, their input was still requested and given.

“To a majority they were in approval of the appointment,” said Moore.
