Francis Roscioli charged in pedestrian's death
Police report he was driving drunk early Sunday
Multiple charges have been filed against a 21-year-old man for hitting and killing another man with his car early Sunday morning in Easton.
Charges against Francis T. Roscioli of Easton include homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence and involuntary manslaughter.
Thirty-five-year-old Abraham Rivera, who was walking home when he was hit, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Easton police report that just after 2 a.m. Sunday, Roscioli was passing a car on Lehigh Drive in Easton when he hit Rivera. They said Roscioli lost control of his SUV, hit an embankment and flipped. He walked away with minor injuries.
Other charges lodged against the suspect Thursday include homicide by vehicle, recklessly endangering another person, two counts of driving under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving, passing where prohibited, failing to keep right and failing to drive at a safe speed.
Unable to post $500,00 bail, the suspect is in Northampton County Prison.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 4 before Magisterial District Judge Elizabeth A. Romig-Gainer.
According to court records, Roscioli pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in 2012. He was out on parole from that charge.
