Homeless man found sitting on ladder he stole
Christopher Burd also carrying drug paraphernalia
A homeless man was arrested after he was found taking a break on a ladder he stole, officials said.
Christopher H. Burd was sitting on a 32-foot, paint-splattered aluminum ladder with yellow feet on the ends in the 600 block of North 13th Street in Easton at about 8:25 a.m. Saturday, about 20 minutes after the ladder was reported stolen by Dwayne Tillman from a home at 937 Lehigh St., about a mile away.
Burd had a hypodermic needle on him when he was arrested, officials added.
Burd, 33, was arraigned on charges of receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $10,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Sept. 27.
