The Historic Hotel Bethlehem is serving it up local this summer.
The hotel's executive chef, Michael Adams, is hand-picking seasonal fruits and vegetables from the Burnside Plantation in Bethlehem for use in meals throughout the summer.
Chef Adams then takes that produce, and incorporates it into special menu items to be served at the hotel's "1741 on the Terrace" restaurant.
Hotel Bethlehem garden volunteers, in return, dedicate time each week to maintain the garden. Along with the volunteer's time, Hotel Bethlehem says they will make a "fair value" donation to "Historic Bethlehem Museum and Sites," specifically to benefit the garden.
The new summer menu, which debuted in June, includes sugar snap peas as well as organic chicken and duck breast from the Lancaster Farm Fresh Cooperative.
The Burnside Plantation and Historic Hotel Bethlehem are both located in Bethlehem, PA. Hotel Bethlehem has been welcoming guests for more than 250 years.
