Ice Cream Wars
SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. -

Dozens of folks were screaming for ice cream this weekend in Lehigh County.

The Da Vinci Science Center hosted Ice Cream Wars 6.0 Saturday in South Whitehall Twp.

Nine teams from our area, including one from 69 News, made their own ice cream in an intense battle for the top prize.

Batches of the creative flavors were voted on by visitors.

Dennis Zehner, commissioner of Ice Cream Wars, said of the event, "Ice Cream wars has developed into one of the most colorful and fun culinary events on the calendar in the Lehigh Valley every year. It's also a great opportunity to learn a little about chemistry and science."

69 News' own Will Lewis was the event's emcee.

The 401 Creative team won the contest with a blend of mini chocolate chips, bite-sized waffles, maple syrup and strawberries.
