John Reinhart chosen as Easton's interim superintendent
The Easton Area School District has a new, interim superintendent.
The hiring of former Bangor Area School District Supt. John Reinhart was unanimously approved by the Easton Area School Board Tuesday night.
"Welcome back!" board president Robert Fehnel told Rinehart after the vote, noting that Rinehart worked for 13 years in the Easton area district before moving on to the Bangor area district.
Rinehart, who takes over July 1 on a month-to-month contract, said he "appreciates the opportunity to work with the board" and is looking forward to "this difficult, challenging job."
Rinehart, who guided the Bangor area district as superintendent for 10 years before retiring in 2010, will be paid $12,500 a month and be entitled to one sick day and one personal day each month, according to the contract.
Rinehart will replace Supt. Susan McGinley, whose contract was not renewed by the board.
Two finalists were chosen after a $15,000-plus search for McGinley's replacement, but both candidates withdrew their names in April.
