John Swing says he choked girlfriend's daughter because she kicked her pregnant mom, police say
A man is claiming he attacked his girlfriend's teenage daughter because she kicked her pregnant mother, officials said.
John S. Swing began choking his girlfriend's 16-year-old daughter after grabbing her by the ankles and pulling her off a bed in his home in the 200 block of South Main Street in Bangor, Northampton Co., at midnight Thursday, officials said.
Swing told police he held the teen by the throat because she had kicked her mother, who is four months pregnant, in the stomach, officials said.
Police found the teen with her throat swollen and red marks on her ankles, officials said.
Swing, 50, was arraigned on charges of assault and harassment and released on $5,000 unsecured bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. July 12.
