Easton's Kindred Hospital is closing by March 29.
Located on the campus of Easton Hospital at 250 S. 21st St in Wilson., Kindred Hospital provides long-term acute care "to medically complex patients who require extended recovery time."
A hospital spokeswoman explained the hospital's parent company has decided not to renew its lease.
"As a result, we have stopped accepting new admissions," said the spokesman. "During the transition, we will continue to provide our patients with care and services and tend to their medical needs.
"We will offer all patients who need continued care after the hospital closes an opportunity to transfer to a provider of their choice. We will take every step necessary to help our patience relocated, including arranging for requested transfers and paying for any expenses. "
The spokesman said Kindred also is committed to working with its 105 employees "to assist them in their efforts to seek new employment. Some employees may be offered jobs at other Kindred hospitals in the state."
