LANta adds more hybrid buses to its fleet
More hybrid buses are cruising the streets of the Lehigh Valley.
LANta says it's adding nine new diesel hybrid electric buses to its fleet. They'll all be in operation by Friday, February 28th. The new buses will replace models that have been in use since 1998.
LANta says the hybrid buses get over 50% fuel efficiency compared to standard diesel buses.
The buses were purchased through the Pennsylvania State Consortium program led by the Red Rose Transit Authority in Lancaster, Pa.
Of the 83 buses operated by LANta, 24 of them are now hybrids.
