"Thank God, it's over!"
Those were the thoughts of Facenda Fairley, bags in hand, as she wrapped up her shopping on Christmas Eve at the Lehigh Valley Mall.
Fairley, who said she broke out into a sweat while shopping, was determined to find bargains.
"Got to get those big deals, savings!," Fairley said.
Fairley said she thought more about prices this year, and did a lot more shopping around.
"You have to watch, there are a lot more different stores with different prices now," Fairley said.
It appears lots of people were tighter with their wallets this year. Recent reports show last week's holiday sales down 3.1 percent from last year, a difference of more than 40 billion dollars.
But at the Lehigh Valley Mall, numbers are looking pretty good.
"We see the mall busy, stores are happy, very happy about the holiday season," said Amanda Johnson, the mall's director of marketing and business development.
Mall officials said sales picked up a little bit later this season and it saw lots of gift cards being sold. It expects more bags to be filled next week, when those are redeemed.
