Lauren Ruppert choked son and attacked man after drinking, police say
A woman choked her son and slapped around a man she was drinking with in her home, officials said.
Lauren Ruppert grabbed her 5-year-old son by the neck and also attacked Dustin M. Flyte in the kitchen and at the front door of her home at 336 East Walnut St., Nazareth, Northampton Co., at about 2:15 p.m. Sunday, officials said.
When police arrived, the boy had bruises on several parts of his neck and Flyte had a large red mark on his right cheek and scratches on his neck, officials said.
The boy told police his mom "choked me and hit daddy in the kitchen and threw things at him," officials noted.
Both Ruppert and Flyte admitted they had been drinking, officials said.
Ruppert, 29, was arraigned on charges of assault, reckless endangerment and harassment and released on $7,500 unsecured bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Sept. 27.
