Twenty-three-year-old Lenette Bigush of Allentown has been charged with rape and indecent assault.
The attack occurred about 4:30 p.m. Oct. 15 in the city.
The victim told Allentown police that Bigush entered her apartment, struck her when she threatened to call her husband, pushed her down on the bed, ripped off her pants and raped her.
While raping the woman, the suspect made racial comments about the victim's husband being white and said she should try some Spanish, according to police.
After the attack, Bigush warned the victim not to say anything because she would not want to find out what would happen if she did.
The victim told police she and her husband had an argument with Bigush two weeks before the rape. Just before the rape, the suspect initiated a conversation with her outside her residence to apologize for that argument.
Bigush, who resides in an apartment in the 700 block of Walnut Street, was arrested Thursday and committed to Lehigh County Prison, unable to post $400,000 bail.
