A family of four is warm, secure and fed after receiving assistance form the Red Cross.

At approximately 3 P.M. Tuesday, the American Red Cross, Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter, responded to a single-family fire located on Ahearn Drive in Mt. Bethel.

The Bethlehem family lost their home due to the fire but were provided with food, clothing and lodging by the Red Cross.

The Red Cross promises to follow-up with the family for additional services as needed.

For individuals who have been personally affected by a fire or other disaster, the offer of a warm blanket, the means to purchase food and clothing, lodging, personal hygiene items like those found in a comfort kit, even a stuffed animal for a child, can make all the difference for a hopeful tomorrow.

The Red Cross seeks to make a difference in the lives of others and they are always open to volunteers on their disaster teams. If you are interested in volunteering, you may contact The Red Cross at 610-865-4400 ext. 219.
