In his closing statement, Higgins said that what the Republican or Democratic parties did on a national level had no impact on what he would do as an elected official in Lower Macungie Township.
Conrad noted several times that he was a “real” Republican. While Eichenberg noted that he has been a Republican for 46 years and Reis had said he had been a member of the GOP his entire life.
“I am proud to be a Republican,” Eichenberg said. “The values of a Republican mean something to us. These are our values.”
The Democratic candidate for commissioner, John Yurasits, did not participate in Wednesday night’s debate. The primary is May 21st.
