Man attacked girlfriend after throwing cup over her toddler's head, police say
A man attacked his girlfriend when she tried to push him out of their home after he threw a glass cup over the head of a 3-year-old boy and smashed a TV screen with his foot, officials said.
Keith Vanhorn grabbed his girlfriend by the throat and shoved her to the ground in their home in the 200 block of Oak Street in Nazareth, Northampton Co., around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, officials said.
The woman, who was found with red marks on her neck and back, told police Vanhorn was angry that she was talking to the father of her child, officials said.
The cup Vanhorn threw over the child's head smashed against a wall, officials noted.
Vanhorn was taken into custody without incident at the Nazareth Diner, officials added.
Vanhorn, 31, was arraigned on charges of assault and harassment and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $15,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Nov. 13.
