EASTON, Pa. -

A man assaulted a woman in her home with an umbrella, officials said.

Willie A. Drummond cut the woman near her left eye and bruised her forehead with the umbrella in her apartment in the 100 block of South 3rd Street in Easton around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, officials said.

Court papers do not given any reason for the attack and do not describe the relationship between Drummond and the victim.

Drummond, 52, of 254 West St. Joseph St., Easton, was arraigned on assault and harassment charges and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $5,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 11 a.m. Aug. 2.
