LOWER SAUCON TWP., Pa. -

A man who police found rolling around in the road smelling of alcohol had to be subdued with a Taser after he became belligerent, officials said.

Michael S. Zekind became hostile and began to fight when police questioned him at Mixsell and Quincy avenues in Lower Saucon Township, Northampton Co., around 7:35 p.m. Saturday, officials said.

Police used a Taser on Zekind after he spit at an officer and continued fighting when he was asked to calm down, officials said.

Zekind continued to be belligerent after he was taken into custody, officials added.

Zekind, 26, of 2654 Quincy Ave., Lower Saucon Township, was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, resisting arrest and harassment and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $35,000 bail, according to court documents.
