Michael Zekind zapped, jailed for spitting on cop
Police had to use stun gun to subdue suspect
Michael Scott Zekind has been jailed after spitting in the face of a Lower Saucon Township police officer.
At 7:34 p.m. Aug. 31, police responded to a domestic disturbance complaint at 2654 Quincy Ave., Zekind's home address.
When police arrived, Zekind fled the house and was found rolling around in the street at the intersection of Quincy and Mixsell avenues.
Police said Zekind was "heavily intoxicated" and began fighting with them. A stun gun was used on him after he spit on the police officer so he could be taken into custody.
He also was charged with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, harassment, public drunkenness and resisting arrest.
Police said Zekind also is "an illict drug user."
Following arraigment, Zekind was committed to Northampton County Prison. Bail was set at $35,000.
