NJ brothers caught trying to steal vehicles in Northampton Co., police say
Wayne and Dewayne Parchment face attempted theft charges
Two brothers from New Jersey tried to steal vehicles from three different driveways in a Northampton County neighborhood, officials said.
Wayne and Dewayne Parchment were taken into custody after they were seen trying to get into vehicles parked in driveways in the 1300 block of Stoke Park Road and 1200 block of Foxview Drive, Hanover Township, around 8:50 a.m. Monday, officials said.
In each case, the men hurried off the driveway when they were confronted by homeowners, officials noted.
The 20-year-old Parchment brothers share the same birthday and address, 1119 Mount Holly Road, Edgewater Park, N.J., which is about 85 miles southeast of Bethlehem.
They were both arraigned on charges of attempted theft, conspiracy to steal a motor vehicle and disorderly conduct and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $15,000 bail each, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing for both men is set for 9 a.m. Nov. 22.
