A New Jersey man who racked up almost $1,500 on his grandmother's debit card without her permission last summer is now behind bars, officials said.
Kyle W. Silver began tapping his grandmother's bank account on July 29, when she allowed him to buy a $108.35 ticket from StubHub.com for Electric Adventure, an event staged at an amusement park where participants ride the attractions while dance music DJs perform, officials said.
However, over the next four days, Silver used the debit card for eight other transaction totaling $1,455.20, officials said.
Silver's grandmother, who lives in Lower Saucon Township, Northampton Co., was eventually reimbursed by StubHub, they added.
Silver, 20, of Cherry Hill, N.J., was arraigned Sunday on charges of unauthorized use of an access device, theft and receiving stolen property and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $20,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 11 a.m. Dec. 16.
