Omega man jailed after trying to flee police
Kevin D. White was wanted for having synthetic marijuana
A man wanted for having synthetic marijuana in his home tried to flee on foot after police attempted to take him into custody during a traffic stop Monday.
Kevin D. White, who is also known as "Omega," ran through a yard and jumped over two fences after he left a vehicle police had stopped in the 1000 block of Northampton Street in Easton around 3:40 p.m., officials said.
White was being detained on an arrest warrant issued after he was found during a June 15 drug bust with synthetic marijuana in a bedroom of his home at 28 South 11th St., Easton.
At the time, White admitted to smoking the drug with a friend the day before, officials added.
White, 30, was arraigned on an escape charge in connection with the Monday incident and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $8,000 bail, according to court documents.
He was also arraigned on a drug possession charge for the June 15 incident, with bail set at $15,000, court papers show.
A preliminary hearing on both charges is set for 9 a.m. Oct. 31.
